Boston Confidential is proficient in web-related programming languages such as HTML, CSS, DHTML, Javascript, and PHP.
We also have extensive knowledge of such applications as Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office (including Frontpage and Access), Adobe Acrobat, and MySQL.
In regards to weblogging software and/or news updating applications, Boston Confidential will happily install Movable Type or Blogger for you. (Please note: When used for certain business-related websites, Movable Type asks for a licensing fee of $150, which is not inclusive in BostonConfidential's invoice.)
Domain Name Services and Hosting
Boston Confidential will gladly help you to select the domain name (e.g., yoursite.com) of your choice and assist you in acquiring it and pointing it toward your servers, typically for a very reasonable price (also non-inclusive).
At this time, Boston Confidential does not offer web hosting on our own servers. Although this service may become available at some point in the future, in the meantime we will more than happily assist you in hosting your website on your own server or with a third-party hosting service.
Pricing
At Boston Confidential Design, we recognize that not all people or businesses are created equal, and therefore we prefer to discuss fees and labor costs on an individual basis with our customers. There are, however, a few things we can say in this general setting.
Our prices do not include fees associated with third party services such as domain name purchase, web hosting, or online weblogging tools such as Blogger or Movable Type (which sometimes apply).
We are willing to discuss several forms of payment, such as hourly rates or flat fees. Payment specifics will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
We realize that at this time and state of the economy, extra funds, especially among our target demographic, can be scarce. We can assure you that our fees are justified, and are often substantially lower than going rates within the design industry. We are far more interested in building a reputation as friends to small business than in widening our profit margins.
